California - Northern

My Bresse trio just came out of quarantine and are integrating beautifully with my flock. I don't think that they are going to be able to stay here long term because the cockerel is quite a morning crower. Hardly a crow the rest of the day but he sure lets loose between 6:30 and 7:30 AM. I'm hoping that being with all the big girls will give him something else to think about other than crowing!

Crowing first thing in the morning was not my problem here. It was the one that crowed loudly all day long.

Animal Control eats lunch a block from my house in Pioneer Park...

Are you getting eggs yet!

Yep! You know us, the Monet/Debi chicken crazy duo. We would take any chicken we could get our hands on! In this case, it was George who really wanted the Bresse! Funny, huh?! Of course, he still thinks that we should get rid of all of our other chickens and only breed Bresse!

He should know me better after 33 years of marriage! So, we have this trio and they will probably end up going to their own breeding pen at the farm. We are hoping to set up a paddock system there and rotate our breeding stock (right now Langshans, SPPR, and Bresse) through a few breeding pens. We'll see how it works!
