Thanks!! Really, Molly? Does the comb have that indication? She lays huge eggs!! She's almost every day.
I bought 3 new temp/hydros from Incubator warehouse and one is way off. I put all three in the same bator to check for accuracy and one is at least 10% lower on humidity and .8 degrees lower on temp. Planning to return it. I could not figure out why I could not get the humidity up in the bator and it turned out to be the gauge. Luckily that bator did not have any eggs in it at the time.I have that one and it is not very accurate. This one is better: http://incubatorwarehouse.com/incubator-thermometer-hygrometer.html
Temp is accurate and the humidity level is close.
Welcome! Now this seems like a good thread with very nice chicken people! I think I'll stay and listen for a while...
Is anyone near the Sierra Nevada mountains. I'm on top of them ;-)

I lost 35 polish to a bob cat in 2011. I patrolled everyday, put out a manikin, played music, I even put up an electric fence and nothing worked. I finally resorted to a roof over the run and stopped letting them free range on the hill behind the coop. Turns out , our bob cat only comes in the Fall so the birds can free range the rest of the year. Here is a picture of the roof we built over the run. As you can see, the chickens were supervising.Sigh, I feel your frustration! The bobcat would come by so often we gave it a name: Mr. Jingles. Lots of bobcats are just straight up lazy. I saw some bobcat scat with only berry seeds in it. Seriously big kitty?? Have you noticed the surplus population of wild birds that are obese and sick?
Could have told you that!lol dont mess with the Ameraucana thread lol
