Went out today and picked up the egg turner and a fan from Staples - upgrading the LG right. Installed the fan upside down, take it apart and turn in over. Plugged everything in to let it run, 116°, unplugged the turner and took off the clear lids, cooled down to 86°, plugged it back in and the temp. was 122°
So I'll still be doing still air hatching. After all the adjustments I've made today just trying to get it dialed back in tonight.

As soon as the chest feathers come in.

The difference becomes REALLY obvious. These are 5 week old wellies:
I love that they are so easy to tell apart at that young of an age. I guess that I just need to be patient for 2 or 3 more weeks! (Shantih, do you know what date these Wellies hatched?

How frustrating to do all of that and then not have it work right! The temp in my new Genesis is holding very steady but the humidity is another story.

Thanks, Ron. I cannot recall the last any of us have had antibiotics. My youngest 3 kids have never had them in their lives, my oldest once as a baby and my husband...maybe since before we had kids? For myself the last time I had them I was nursing my firstborn. This has been ongoing for a couple years but they always said it was anxiety. For the first time they admitted it was something else since when he had the spike of 150 heart rate he was laying down resting doing nothing. They said he likely has some sort of heart defect- we will know more in coming months. I hope. lol

Good to hear from you zoo. I've decided your husband is a king Charles spaniel. They all have heart problems and live forever anyway. I will hope for good news for you both!
I have had... never had antibiotics. Unless yo consider vaccines. I'm not anti anything, I just really don't like going to the dr. I had a tb scare when I was a young thing but now I am leery.
Anyone have jubilee orpingtons around here? :)

Pappa brooder does. Mine are only 3 weeks old.

I can ask mario about putting a fan in, he did ours and said something about having to make sure to do something. Yell if you want me to check with him.

I tried to order from brinsea today but the site was foobar. Hopefully mario had a chance to and I'll get the calibrated one soon. I has been crazy today. We had 2 jobs go yes...no...yes.... no... yes... all day. Of course now they want the thing tomorrow and we have not even packed yet. I swear agents think I am superman!

Humidity does not have to be as exact. I do not use the trays on the hovabator, I put the water in cups and when I need higher humidity for lockdown I put in a wet sock. I have to fewer it in 2 days however.

When they built their house, they were the last house, it is on Skyview. The only thing past them in the '60's was the old Indian cabin (he lived there then, not sure it's still there). Now of course, there are quite a few houses past their's. In those days Cable was dirt almost from the time you turned off Carson. There's a lot more pavement now.

My CG house (my son lives in it) is on Alder (behind the CG market on Pony Express).

Thanks Chiqita,

Something about that fan just keeps pumping out the heat - trying to hatch, not boil them. I took it apart again and disconnected the fan. I'll check temp again in a while and see, I left the turner in it, the motor is warm to the touch, but not affecting the temp. like the fan was. I'll just load away from the motor and I should be good. So glad I'm making this "Easier"? for DH.
