California - Northern

oh, i hadn't even noticed that yet! but you're right, one has white legs, one yellow. the white-legged one also has lighter ears.

so far, they are not enjoying being confined to a small pen (the "transit lounge") -- they've knocked over their water and food twice already, by bouncing around so much! i've put them in sturdier containers, but they seem very eager to run around more freely!
lol that is the penedesenca in them. dont like to be confined. they will be fine. Keep them in a space they can see everyone for at least a week.

that's my plan -- will probably just have to constantly be refilling the food and water! they definitely remind me of the original Amelia -- might be extremely dull and name them Amelia One and Amelia Two.

Oh NO! the lavender marans cockerel 5 months crowed this morning! Does anyone want to come get him TODAY? He's got to go...no crowing allowed at my house!

He is showing more yellow in his hackles than we were going for in the breeding program. Please PM me if anyone wants him... FREE to good home (no hens are available-they are going to Sarah/mycutekitties for breeding)

exactly! they are quite jealous of the other girls getting to go outside the coop this morning -- although it's raining off and on, so the whole flock is staying close to shelter. and Eleanor is still determinedly on her nest full of eggs... what a nice way to spend easter!

Did anyone watch the thunder and lightening show last night? It was awesome.

I did! I went to bed early (for me) and got up when the SILENT lightning started illuminating my bedroom. I stood in the doorway to my covered porch for some time watching it light up the yard. Was a bit worried as the rain had not started.

My Ninja (Cayuga) flock did not seem concerned, but they were definitely wide awake. They don't coop up. Fun to actually SEE them in the flashes.

Then it began to pour, and the thunder got louder and louder as the storm came closer.

Fantastic sight! I went back to bed, soothed by the rain.

Woke up to find six more Easter Hatch chicks out of their shells in the incubator. Another has hatched since; I am guessing there may be more hatching, but if not, I'm still happy with 9 new babies.

I went to the show today. Got there at 12:15, went to the food seating area. Didn't see a BYC group and didn't recognize anyone as described. Sorry to have missed you all that were there.

I enjoyed looking at the birds. The LF Orps were HUGE! So was the one LF RIR. Lots more bantams than large fowl but still a good show for the drive.
I was there and I did go hang out around the snack bar at noon. I guess we should have been more organized. Although I ended up buying cheeseburgers for DH and I. They were delicious

That big old RIR was mine, he's not yet a year old, still has a lot of growing/filling out to do.

Did you see the blue cochin pullet? My bird also.
