California - Northern

I was there and I did go hang out around the snack bar at noon. I guess we should have been more organized. Although I ended up buying cheeseburgers for DH and I. They were delicious

That big old RIR was mine, he's not yet a year old, still has a lot of growing/filling out to do.

Did you see the blue cochin pullet? My bird also.

She won Champion Asiatic, so was up on Champion Row for Best in Show.................not that she got it, she's just a baby, LOL The JG & BO were Ch. & Resv. Ch. Large Fowl.
Congrats on the well deserved award. I think everyone should go to a poultry show to see what these breeds should look like. I never wanted a RIR until I saw yours and Ron's.

Almost 24 weeks (6 months)
yay! Happy pregnancy! May you keep everything down and stay on the curve!
that's my plan -- will probably just have to constantly be refilling the food and water! they definitely remind me of the original Amelia -- might be extremely dull and name them Amelia One and Amelia Two.
I was trying to explain why this breed was called Amelias to Mario.. he was like " do they tell that to everyone? Must be a long time per customer.." I thought that was a riot.

Sorry I cant help Cheryl, we are deroostering this week here, just processed 6 ee cockrials and have to figure out what to do with 4 silkie roos this week. One black birchen ( silver hackles) 2 what I think are porcelian, 1 lavender, and one other guy I don't remember.

This will leave me with 2 black, 1 dark splash, 1 blue, 1 blue frizzle, and 1 black/blue frilkie rooster. Plus whatever is in the growouts. It is MADNESS here.

I hope everyone is having a lovely easter! We are planning to be quiet today and put up wire for the silkies in the shed and give them a run. The are REALLY ready to not be cooped up most of the time, and I figured out how to do it so i'm happy!

deb, gratz on champions row, that is exciting.

ring of death?
I had one like that but put it back....it hatched. I'd stick it back in and see what happens.
I went to the show today. Got there at 12:15, went to the food seating area. Didn't see a BYC group and didn't recognize anyone as described. Sorry to have missed you all that were there.

I enjoyed looking at the birds. The LF Orps were HUGE! So was the one LF RIR. Lots more bantams than large fowl but still a good show for the drive.
Kim, I was there! I picked up a beautiful FCBM and some amazing dark FCBM eggs from debs_flock! We tried to find others. I saw my friend Debbie from Heaven Sent Farms and hung out with her for awhile and Deb too. Do you have long, red blonde hair? I saw a woman around the show ring that I wondered if she was a BYC. Was that you? I'm blonde and had on a navy blue tshirt with jeans. I was carrying a mustard colored purse and a dozen eggs!

Debbie (Heaven Sent) and I were admiring those Orpingtons! She wanted to buy the pullet but the little girl that owned them couldn't part with her. I asked Deb (debs_flock) if she saw that big RIR and she said, yes, he's mine! Let me tell you, Deb has some pretty awesome birds! The Blue Cochin pullet is just a beautiful ball of a girl! What about your eggs in the egg contest Deb? I've been dying to know if the judge changed his mind after our conversation.

Wish we could have met others but am so thrilled with out FCBM rooster and our eggs that it's OK.

When I met Laura to get the Amelias to her, one of them tried to jump\fly out of the box. We both expected it and got her back down quickly. I said something about them being "spirited" and she said:" I know, that is why they are called Amelias!"

Some like chickens with a bit of spunk!
