So my Marans girl plucked all her feathers off her belly and is trying to hoard eggs!!! If u collect eggs constantly so there are none there for her will she stop the broody ness? Aahhhhhhh

I know some of you guys on here have EE's, I need some advice. I posted these guys on the EE sexing thread a while back and everyone seemed to think they were both Roo's. I'm still leaning towards a pullet on one of them though. They are 8 week old feed store "Ameruacanas".

I'm thinking it's a she.

I'm sure this one is a boy though...

Thanks for the help all those who replied. Got my fingers crossed that the feed store will get silkies tomorrow! Do you guys know if it's more common for a feed store to sell a bearded or non bearded silkie? TY again.

As everyone else said, feedstore silkies will not look like the silkies you see here. Nice birds, will lay and brood, but not be the big puff balls you see.

your blue layers look like my brown layers

The first one looks like a pullet to me.

The second one has red in the wings--That is an EE rooster color pattern so I think that one is a cockerel.

If you are getting straight run, buy them from someone on this thread!

Deb has some very nice looking blue egg layers.

Thanks Ron, I just love looking at the color of eggs on the CL. The intensity and purity of the blue just makes me feel good inside looking at them.

The legbars I can do. However if you get eggs, they hatch white or cream (crele). I have both in my flock and the creams can carry the recessive white. I don't have any LF cochin laying at the moment, but I am just starting to hatch bantam Columbian cochins. I can supply eggs on the bantams.

I just counted the chicks in today's hatch................................57 so far with a few more pips. Yikes, tomorrow I need to sort through them, there are several breeds in there..........it is a MASS of chicks.

They look pretty white, maybe a small yellow tinge. A mix of whites and paints and silkies and showgirls

Debi..................come over to the dark side...........................

White legbars for one. Autosexing breed, snow white, crested and the most beautiful pure blue eggs you've ever seen. I hatched some about two weeks ago and more yesterday.
A youngster

You can see my white roo in the background (a cream up front), don't mind his dirty tail, it was muddy

Your white Legbars are simply beautiful! How big are they in adulthood? Are they flighty? are the eggs as blue as the Ameracuana eggs? I would love to have 2 blue egg layers, and of course being as pretty as your Legbars is definitely a big plus. My birds free-range, and all are large fowl. Looking at your photos, I have the impression that they are not large? well, perhaps I am mistaken.. How would they fare with large birds?

I dont know where you are but I have chicks.. white and one partridge. I am not breeding whites so will not be keeping these chicks. They are from HatTrick and Catdance lines. These are the parents( white pen) and the chicks. I have three more in the incubator as well.
