Sorry about your cat! I hope he turns up.

My cat Jasper is an inside cat that got out one night. I did not know he was out and I scared him in the morning. He ran full speed into the chicken wire and crashed through(he weighs more than 20 pounds). He then disappeared until the next day when I found him wedges between a shed and the wall of the house. I had to take a fence apart to get him out.

He wound up with an infected puncture wound which ended with a vet visit and penicillin shot. Some cats should not go outside. Jasper is fine now.

There is a question on the Heritage Large Fowl thread about Cheryl Cohen's Silver Pencil Rocks. Who has them now?

Deb, what line do you have?
I have four of her SPPR roos and several pullets. I've finally narrowed down which roo that we are going to keep so will be putting him with the hens in a hoop coop as soon as the juvies have grown big enough to move out of one of them. I do have 3 more roos if anyone needs one. Otherwise, they are slated for the dinner table.

thanks everyone. Up here animals out at night dont always stand the best chance. luckily being a cat he has good vision and hearing. I have my windows all open at night just in case I hear something or something going after him ( I am prepared for that too

Hopefully he comes back soon.. Funny but usually the older my cats got the less they ever wanted to try to escape. I had only house cats too. Too many cars, dogs, etc. outside the house.

He is very pretty.

The things we do for our pets.

Sorry about the macaw egg Deb. I was looking forward to seeing that and watching how it progressed.

Today was Brooder cleaning day. The 5 week old Basque and two Pita Pintas enjoyed some yard time.

They look very small compared to the 5 month old White Bresse Pullet in the grow out chicken tractor:

they look so vigorous, Ron!

i've managed to get a few pictures of Amelia #2 and her new hatchlings -- will definitely have to get some better ones, but here's what i've got for now -- they're in a not-easy-to-reach-with-a-camera nestbox. the eggs came from some combination of a cream legbar, two basques, one SPPR, and one australorp, all fertilized by Max the SFH -- not sure who is who yet, although one (probably one of the CL/SFH crosses) has a GIANT white dot on it's head -- probably a boy!

Amelia #2 and FOUR chicks, there might still be another resting underneath her? two definitely did not make it through hatching, i've removed those, and there were 8 eggs originally.

judging by the empty eggshells, one of the hatchlings is definitely a Daisy Jr. (yay!!!), and it might be this one, i remember Daisy (a black australorp) had a lot of white on her face/head as a chick

possible-Daisy Jr. says hello!

another dark chick with a gorgeously brown head
