Had fun taking pictures of some of my chickens today Here are my bantam Polish chicks that are a few weeks old. Looks like I have 3 boys and 2 girls (on the left) by the shape of their crests. They are so goofy I love my Polish! Some of my Golden Cuckoo Marans pullets were milling around in the chicken house today making I want to lay an egg noises! Can't wait for my first chocolate eggs!! My Golden Cuckoo Marans rooster.

Beautiful birds!! Love the colors!

pouring here in sonoma county -- SUCH a wonderful sound on the roof! although the chickens are grumpy, i'd promised them an outing today. maybe later...

Potato leek soup today. It will be snowing here tonight at the top! I'm not ready, they YARD is not ready! I hope it won't stick for at least a month...

Good day all! I am in the Sierra foothills. Specifically North Auburn. Highway 50 is my families line between north and central California. Up here we have to prepare our livestock for the on coming weather the day before. That includes my 4 ducks and 15 chickens. Because I don't wantto loose any of my livestock this winter and this being my first time owning ducks will they be OK with snow cold temps?

Welcome, I think you've found the best thread and group of people! Sorry I can't help with the duck question, we will probably add a couple nest year.
