Is the apple cider vinegar a added vitamin or like a natural immune booster?
I use save a chick but that would be cheaper if it is the same thing...

Yes pricy is true.
wait till you start building multiple coops and runs.

I've read it's really beneficial to put apple cider vinegar in the chickens water (4 tbsp. per gallon). I've seen Bragg's Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar mentioned a few times. What kind do you guys use? And is this ok to add to their water each time I change it?

i've been putting apple cider vinegar in my pullets' water (local brand made over in sebastopol), and not sure if it makes any difference health-wise, but they seem to love it! if it's unfiltered/unpasteurized, i think it's supposed to help keep their digestive system healthy, kind of like yogurt... (and don't use in galvanized metal waterers, the acidity can react with the metal).

I just bought a Brinsea Ecoglow 50 brooder on BYC for a reeeeallly good price! Woohoo! I'm getting ready for the chicks hatching the 29th. Ordered a thermometer/hygrometer, leg bands to keep track of their growth and a brooder so far. Um, this is gettin' kinda expensive! Now I need to get some shelf liner stuff for the floor. That should be pretty inexpensive though.

Yawn.. it's too early!
Oh My, you are a very busy chicken momma! Is Concord pretty flexible with chicken zoning or do you live on a farm?

I put ACV in their big water container (14" X 24") every time I dump it out and refill with new water. It is just the "Great Value" kind which I also use in cooking and salads, etc. I also put those little garlic pieces in their waterers....and they love to eat them right up. I've always understood that both the garlic and ACV are just to sort of "clean them out" and fight internal parasites, but they may offer other benefits. They don't contain any vitamins like the Sav-A-Chick Vit/Electrolytes. I add Sav-A-Chick to several waterers on hot days (like today) but make sure you also offer cold water because there is sodium in the S-A-C.

We're only allowed 12 chickens including roosters. I have 7 right now in the coop. I wish we lived on a farm! Hopefully we can find a farmette to rent in a couple of months.. or we could move to Pleasant Hill (I heard they don't have a limit on chickens! Uh oh!!)

What you want is the "mother" in the vinegar, so you want the unfiltered kind if you can get it. They have it at Traders Joes if you have them around you. Its a keep the water clean and keep the bacteria in their gut healthy thing, especially good for young chicks and guys who could get poop problems. I have heard that its good against worms, too, but I have no evidence of that one.

you can use it every time, it wont harm them in the doses you are giving it to them. Its also not bad for you in the same doses for the same reasons.

ACV is great for keeping the slime out of the waterers, is good for them, but I can tell you first hand that it does not prevent worms. Neither does pumpkin or DE.

Do not put ACV in a metal container. And the ration is 1 TBS per gallon. And yes, you can put it in every time you change the water.
