Yes, thank you. I'm not familiar with that brand. If I get another incubator, I'll get another RCom.

Do you plan to incubate in your table top incubators and then hatch in the hatcher?

Yes. I need a large hatcher so that I can separate areas for pedigree hatching. Thank you for the info on the GQF!

AND, i shouldn't have mentioned the long survival of the feral chicken -- as i just heard a commotion, and looked out my office window just in time to see a fluffy-tailed fox carrying him/her off. so, everyone will be staying inside their pens for the near future...

I may have a line on some breeder space. What I need to know now is assuming I cant free range them due to predators what would be a good pen design

I was envisioning something like a long divided hen house and kennel like runs maybe 3 to 4 kennel like runs. I would move the roos around among the hens I would also have a grow out and bachelor pad pen.

Im just wondering how much space I might need per pen. Im looking to keep about 5-6 hens with each roo.

I want to breed the CLB and possibly try my hand at creating a line of Delawares. I don't want to get in to a huge (relative term) project with the Delawares initially. Only initially interested in breeding my own laying flock replacements and then as I learn more take it from there. Im also using it as a teaching opportunity for my daughter and son.

My dog had a horribly infected eye(had to go see an eye specialist, cost us several hundred dollars, not including the gas money for the 3 hour drive to get there!) but before we went to see the specialist, my vet gave me ointment to put in her eye to try to clear up the infection. If one of my birds ever gets an injured eye, will the ointment work for them, too?

We did everything very haphazardly. As we needed a house, we'd build on and add it on so the chickens kind of wrap around building. Someone said our place looked like Auschwitz for chickens

I remember seeing a lovely set up somewhere on BYC. Hopefully it was this forum and that person can share pictures again.

What little I know about eyes is that one should never use an ointment/drops that has a steroid in it unless they are 100% sure there isn't a scratch. If it's a prescription, check the ingredients, but don't worry if it's OTC, they never have steroids.
