I know a few other people that were also experiencing strange mortality issues. One had trouble hatching them (would end up with a lot of late quitters) and the other 2 people hatched them fine, but they died within a couple of weeks - seeming healthy right up to their passing. And they were hatched/raised with other breeds that did not have any issues.
Oh, I know they had issues with the genetics of the isbars, I just think GFF made the why up. Wern't the egg colors of the US birds also not like the overseas ones? Or am I getting it mixed up. regardless its good they brought in new lines, as the old ones had issues!!All I know is that is what they claim on their website. I don't breed them myself. Have they put an ad on CL?Ther are a pair of geese at the Sant Cruze shelter, cross posting the announcement

Another call on these guys, still waiting for a home! Located in Santa Cruz at the county shelter. They can probably help with transport, willing to do anything to get them a good home! Please share!
Two beautiful social and sweet geese need a loving home! One male one female, do you have a pond that could use a couple sweethearts? They are friendly and good with chickens as well.

They are the ones with the black thing on their heads, chinese mebby?
Of course....wouldn't that naturally be the time they wouls cut the power...right when you have vital eggs incubating????? Glad they got it back on quicklyOkay, thanks to the guys installing our solar panels my power has now been out for over half an hour. Are my eggs safe without power for 30-60 minutes, or do I need to go demand they turn the power back on?
Hatchers are hatching away!!!
Swedish Flower Hens from the farm - our first batch![]()
Also Cream Legbars (they are mighty little hatchers! Just poppin away) and EO Basque. The Basque are special because they are eggs from brand new layers. The cockerel died (of a heart attack) and I gathered the eggs for a week after he passed. Didn't expect much but 6 made it to lock down and so far 4 have hatched! I'm very happy about that. Tiny little things but they look sturdy enough.
Remind me that 20 in a Genesis is a good number. I keep having 30 at lock down and after about 15 chicks, there is no space except ON TOP of the eggs that are trying to open. I'm sure the chicks think that laying on their friends is somehow encouraging but I fail to see that it is in fact helpful.
Yeah!!!!*Oozing* with excitement here... The six peafowl eggs that were shipped from PA to me appear to be viable! Still a long ways to go, but none were clear!![]()
