:cd CHICKEN:cd UPDATE !!!!:cd
I am going with a 7 month trio for my White Empordanesa. They are scheduled to ship tomorrow ( may wait a week do to the weather back east)
Hens are laying which will give me instant hatching eggs!!!
Thanks Molly. I will let you know in a week. I have some of my own eggs in my incubator and they all seem to be developing. Think it was just the last few batches of air delivered ones that where the problem. was pretty hot on the last go around,Jason, that is so exciting? If you need help hatching, I have plenty of room in my incubator. I have been having really great hatch rate...Molly![]()
doneI've entered Earlene my showgirl into a cute pet contest. The prize is a $100 gift card at a local feed store (think sacks of chicken feed, yay!).

Dawww! I read that Leghorns and Cornish chickens were considered very loud breeds, but not Dorkings!I think it is crazy!![]()
Animal Control had me give up my Roos and now I have a SG Dorking Pullet that squawks louder then the rooster crowed!
I have finally named her--she is Mimi for Screaming Mimi!.![]()
I moved her into my pen with the three Basque pullets last night because she seemed to be having a harder time with the big girls. This morning she was sitting on the nest box in the pen and was looking very happy sitting on the fake egg. I gave them some left over broccoli and she came out and ate some. Later she was squawking again!
Silly chickens and sillier chicken ordinances....

Quote: Thank you for the link! I will post a couple of smileys for them.
When my Roos did that, I picked them up and held them until they calmed down. I then put them into a dog kennel for the day as a time out and brain reset strategy.
They all started acting better fairly quickly. Also, the roos sometimes go through a crazy teenager type of stage when the hormones are rushing high for them. Luckily with roos that stage only lasts several months instead years with our human children.
I hope he calms down for you!

Oh how COOL! I will do that- thanks! And thank you for the egg tip. I went out today with crossed fingers hoping for a teeny egg. I know it can take them weeks to resume laying so...sigh. Waiting for eggs...story of my life. lol!Amy - It wasn't mentioned, but you want to store your eggs at room temp., not in the fridge.
And you should enter this picture in the calender contest:
