A little boy asked me if mine was a turkey once.

Although, it is true they take forever to reach full size (At least 2 years) and eat like broilers/meaties.

Whew that's a long time! LOL They are really really impressively stunning.

Hello All!

I live in auburn, Ca and I am new here. I have been looking around for a while, but decided it was finally time to start posting!
My 3 chickens are 13 weeks old, and 2 are roosters! Ack. Anyone have tips in the Northern CA area of who will take my roosters and where to find similar age pullets? I've been searching and posting on craigslist with only a little bit of luck.

Thanks for everyone's help and I look forward to learning more and getting to know everyone!

Does anyone know of a poultry processing facility in the vicinity? I do process my own birds but I do think it would be neat to be able to sell the meat in the future. This would be an excellent way to help market the turkeys in fall..

I have 3 pullets, 2 rooster chicks and one egg due to hatch tomorrow. The fun thing is that breeding your "blue" laced red pair you will get 3 colors of chicks. Blue laced red, black laced red and splash (white laced red.)
