California - Northern

I'm in San Diego and am looking for someone that might be down here from the Sacramento area that would be willing to transport some cockerels back home. Please PM me if you're interested.

They'd make fine traveling companions. Sure to hang on your every word! Thanks :^)

Got a second to jump online and kind of read up a little while everybody isn't using my laptop. Amy Beth-I saw the same posting for those 2 little bamtam chicks. They are very beautifully colored. I looked at the pic for a few minutes because they were just attractive! I'm glad you goy them! I might hatch out some eggs for you I'm a few months if you've got them. And I love your photography! I like photography too. have a certification in Digital Photography from OSU that I just completed 2011-2012. So its fun looking at your pictures because I know when you adjust your shutter speeds and depth of fields lol. Ron- that little chick looks Soo lonely lol :(. I know it can't wait for some friends. My EO eggs also don't look very good. I've been candeling and it only looks like 1 is developing, getting veins for sure. 1 of the eggs were cracked on arrival so I only had 11 to start with. So I might have a loner too (Hopefully!!) OMG!!(literally) Such beautiful weather we have been getting! Yesterday was 89F today 92F! I can't believe I'm saying 92F is beautiful lol! But from 114F, and over 100F for a whole month straight is such a relief, and it feels like its 80F. The smoke is clearin. The breeze is blowing. This is why I moved to Northern California! I took some pictuea today of my 3 RIR hens, Golden sex link hen Dre (Dorking/Americuana rooster) and Macho (Euskal Oiloa Rooster). I've been letting them free range the property for the past few weeks and they found a new dirt bathing spot... Rootballs of Coco Peat! They LOVE it! Lol And it was also a very beautiful sunset last night!

Ok. Wow. Banty rooster and hen on my back porch. That dude starts in at like 530 am? Keeps going....well it's almost 9 now? Now he's not bothering me and I do have neighbors that have roosters (so they have no right to complain right??) but I think he might annoy my mil. I am sure it will turn the volume down when we put them in with the other chickens (which is a fair distance from the house). If HE is that loud- what about the other roosters I want to keep? (Joe, Samson and Copper?) Is it going to sound like a madhouse over here?

Thanks!! It's kinda nice that someone can look at something I shot and know that a little more went into than a camera taking machine gun shots and hoping for a good one. hehe I sell Photoshop actions and LR presets on the side and it is what paid for my chicken/duck habit. :D I love your dirty chickens. rofl Chickens taking dust baths just crack me up! Niiiiice sunset shot!! I am really thrilled with my banty purchase- glad I snagged them (and glad you did not lmbo)!

For those of you who are now or planning on selling eggs in the future, here's a website that you can register with so people who want eating eggs in your area can find you. http://localhens.com/why-choose-local/ Good information too.

Also, this is a link I post periodically on my facebook page for my farm, it's a great article from Mother Earth News on the value of free range eggs and how much better they are for you. http://www.motherearthnews.com/eggs.aspx Might help some of you who are worried about the risk in free ranging feel like it may be worth it.
