i was sure id have a good hatch but nooooo friday (day 5) our power goes out until yesterday morning. i have the eggs back in an incubator because im hoping they will leave but idk any advice on this? they were kept somewhat warm (60-70) most of the time of the outage

Well first supervised introduction of the new girls to the flock went Ok the new girls blustered a bit before being put in their place by top delaware and the big buff orp.

One of them seems more willing to accept her place and the other seems too frightened to even interact.

They were all let in to the yard so they would have plenty of escape room.

Head delaware grabbed the wing of one of them and a few sparring matches but no one hurt other than pride.

Everyone else seemed to get along quite nicely. Will take some more time but Im shure they will get along eventually just sorting out who
is in charge

How far along were they in incubation?

I moved two 5.5 month old Swedish Flower Hens into a different pen with two Marans hens and six Olive Egger pullets. The hens seemed to accept the Swedish Flowers in short order, but after about 9 days the Olive Eggers are still chasing and pecking the poor Swedish Flowers. The SF spend most of the day on the roosts to keep away from the meanies. I guess it will just take more time. Kern

It was really funny after a few squabbles one of the new hens was really on lookout for the other birds.

All of a sudden a sparrow came zooming across the yard from nowhere and ran into the new hen. I think it was just going for the seeds in the yard and wasnt expecting the chicken. The girl jumped so high scared it was hillarious. Sparrow just flew off as fast as it came in.
