Quote: I have a stainless steel metal tray that's very similar to those "mudd trays" in one of my coops. The tray is pretty long (about 3-1/2 ft) and came out of a commercial cooler of some sort, but works great as feeder inside. I like those "mudd trays" too. Might install some of them for oystershells. Just screw them to the wall and you got an extra feeder:)

To get ready for Rain,

I have an inside feeder on the big coop and will be installing an auto watering system tomorrow. I really don't have to do much but take in the outside feeders. I did take down the shade tarp.

The big news was combining chickens today. I moved the TJs chicks and the little Basque chick outside with the two Partridge Penedesencas this morning. The Heritage RIR pullets 18 - 19 weeks old, are now in with the Big Girls. The 9 I hatched from my own chickens after the Sheriff made me give up Roosters, are now in the chicken hutch. All is going well and they seem to get along fine.

Anyone ever have trouble with squirrels getting to their pumpkins? I have set pumpkins out for years on my porch and never have I had so much trouble. I finally decided to move it to the back yard so at least the chickens can enjoy it. No jack-o-lanterns for the kids this year I suppose.

I am so sorry to hear about the squirrels. We do not have any in my neighborhood so they do not get mine.

Great picture of the chickens with the pumpkin. Save it for next years calendar contest.
