The lacing should improve. Here is link showing a splash hen and many of the other possible new barnie colors. The lacing is better on the splash, but I think my splash have a darker red base color . I do like the darker color better.

Oh no, was that a crele I saw on that link? I had no idea Barnies came in so many colors.

I have on IG periodically. Is there something specifically I should be focusing on that will help determine silkie mix gender? They don't seem to act like the LF chickens do...

The one I knew was a boy acted like my LF boys. He was bossy and and would do the jump up kick to the others by a week old. Also both boys', similar to the polish, crests swept backward instead of forward towards the face.

I am making 2 trips to Roseville today and have 16 crele penedesenca eggs if anyone would like to hatch any dark egg layers and meet me somewhere.
My bator is full till Next Monday and at that time I will start incubating most of what I get.
Just pm me. First trip is in a hour departure. second this afternoon.

Oh now, that is soooo not fair!!! Why do you tease me so? I am headed to Tahoe next weekend (Sat.) Any chance you will be headed to Roseville next week? Then again, that may not be such a good idea since I will be on my way to Tahoe so the eggs would need to take a road trip and the altitude may not be good for them. Urg...

BTW, I am getting a Crele Pene roo from Penny. She still has the one I gave her two years ago which was hatched from eggs I purchased from Flights of Fancy. I guess the one she lost was a different roo. Anyway, I wrote her to tell her I was sorry she lost him and she confirmed she still had him. So, I asked her if she would like to trade for a CCL rooster and she said I could have him.

I need to build him a pen so I plan to pick him up when I come back from Tahoe next week, put him in quarantine for a few weeks, and then move my 2 Crele Pene girls in with him. I will have eggs to trade you sometime this spring/summer so we can expand our gene pools. Yipppee!!!

Here is are pictures of his brother that I lost last year!!! They looked identical at 4 months, but I have not seen him since so I have no idea what he looks like now.

You're the best!!! How often do you head to Roseville? I am going to Tahoe next week but I will have 7 teenagers in my car so I doubt I can convince them to take a detour. I am taking my son and 6 of his friends to Tahoe for his 18th B-day. What did I get myself into? We will be skiing at Homewood if anyone happens to be up there between 2/16 and 2/20

Today should be a good day! I made Cheese Cake with Oreo crust last night and had a slice for breakfast. I also started pizza crust for tonight!

The flash was not being nice to me this morning and I had to get out of the house--Daughter to school and me to work. I will try to get a better picture of my Bresse pullet this weekend. She is still in Quarantine.

Fairly painlessly I just handed over two of my three roos to a nice cowboy in front of BOA. I didn't ask their destiny...I'm not sure i want to know.

Oh and on another funny note. The polish pictured yesterday had a sleep over in my bedroom last night in that same spot on my vanity. She was just sleeping there so peacefully I couldn't bear to move her. Of course this is a one time thing!
