Good morning! Still 4 eggs under mama at day 22, no visable pipping. I opened 2 yesterday that were non developers. She is so cute with her babies! They are tiny lol never seen a chick that small.

Hoping for fluffy butts tonight or tomorrow.
I have a bunch of eggs to put in the bator as well. My first big crele penedesenca hatch. I have a few dozen eggs of those plus whatever I get today and tomorrow.
plus some white empordanesa for a test hatch. a few Blue ameraucana x emp's and I think a few emp x partridge penedesenca

My big worry. Cold snow storm headed our way. Tuesday and also another round Saturday.
We are at about 3350 feet. They are saying maybe 2" at 2000 5" at 2500 and 6-10" at 3000
my fears. bator loosing power and my little chicks freezing to death. They will be outside under the carport in the tub with the big 250 red light but no power no heat. May bring them down to my friends this week till I can make sure we do not loose any power.

The good news though they are saying hi snow ratio do to the cold air. So not real heavy. Heavy snow is what usually snaps branches and gets us loosing power.

Elizabeth, if she is still sitting on them just let her go for another day or so. I have had some hatch on day 23 before. So how many are hatched out?

OMG they are cute! Can't wait til Mary and I get ours.

Kelly,
I would be more then happy to start collecting you eggs. Im having a issue with two of the five girls Sneaking out of the breeding coop..

I have no way of knowing if another rooster it breeding them. I'm trying to get my husband to cover that yard. Either that or I need to keep those two girls out Completely...I really want to be able to collect from all five girls.

I didn't get any splash this time, but still really happy with my 14 chicks. I have a quad from my first hatch. One blue hen, one blue rooster and two black hens. They are awesome. I love them. I'm looking forward to watching these little cuties grow.

Well the little chick I posted about yesterday died during the night. I gave her coconut oil, and then she started to act better so I gave her moistened chick starter. When I found her this morning she had chick feed stuck in her throat just like yesterday.

Oh no! I'm so sorry! I really would like to know what causes this!
