My daughter gave her one of her stuffed animals to cuddle (and it's filled with rice, so it actually retains a bit of heat, but not too much. Kind of cool.) and we put a mirror in the box. She definitely seemed lonely. So these are my questions:Is LF large fowl or laying flock or something else?Does anyone have any LF chicks for sale (fairly) near me? Thank you.
I am a bit far from you. The ones I have now need to grow out to see what they are. I would hate to lose all of the pullets.Does anyone have any LF chicks for sale (fairly) near me? Thank you.
Congratulations on the little one! Sometimes they do not look like they are eating much. The water is the most important thing and getting her to eat a bit will slowly get her going.I am surprised and happy to report little invalid chick is still alive. She actually walked around and peeped loudly a few times during the night. I thought for sure I'd wake up to her having passed onMy daughter gave her one of her stuffed animals to cuddle (and it's filled with rice, so it actually retains a bit of heat, but not too much. -Force feeding... (https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/599275/weak-chick-responding-well-to-force-feeding/10) yes or no? She's drinking water but I have had a hard time getting her to eat anything. As in, she tries to peck at crumbles I've mortar and pestled into crumbs, but I don't think she gets any. And she didn't do anything with the egg yolk last night.
-There were several other small bantams in the pen at the feed store. I thought if she started improving I would go get her a buddy. She seemed stronger last night but is still very weak (back in the bandanna and just sleeping). However, she was obviously very lonely last night. Should I go back and get 2 bantams, so if she dies they still have company (and because I imagine she'll be with me, not in the box, most of the day)? Should I wait until she recovers and then get her a friend, assuming they still have some? I could wait until 5pm or so and see how she is, I guess.
Thanks everyone!
Is anyone in the Sonoma County area going to be looking to expand their laying flock or interested in the polish I posted pictures of the other day? We don't need to rehome anyone right now, but we will eventually and I thought I'd slowly start looking. I know most of you on here are more into high quality birds (ours are from McMurray) but I would much rather have them go to someone on here than Craigslist. We would be trying to sell them (not really for profit, but we paid for them. You understand.)

Getting a friend will help her a bunch!
Good work keeping her alive, once they go down its usually difficult.I am surprised and happy to report little invalid chick is still alive. I will probably always have one for that reason and their looks. Plus mine lay golden brown eggs nearly every day. Are those your show girl pics! I hope her hatch is successful!
