I went to put the ducks into lockdown and was greeted by one sitting on the egg turner!

Franken Ducks hatch early....Cute little thing! Now I need to get the rest into the hatcher.....

Oh my gosh Ron you know I am going to be like glued to this thread for the next 2 days right? RIGHT?? ahhh! I am so excited to see the frankenducks you hatch from me! EEEE!!

Hi Amy Beth!

Ducks lock down in the morning and they hatch on Saturday according to the Duck incubation chart I have. I will never get the humidity up to 94% though.

Get the spot check from www.brinsea.com. It is $19.00 there and you can get a 10% coupon code from their facebook page. See if you can get faster shipping from them.

The code they gave me for 10% off, when I ordered my octagon 20 incubator was BrinseaFan. They probably use different ones to track the source.

Hi there peeps! Lots of exciting hatching news from you all....I have been trying to pick the best spot to store gathered eggs for hatching and think I have it. Setting eggs in about 3 weeks! Going to set up the bator and make sure I can keep it stable this weekend :)

Ron why are they Frankenducks? You seem to be hatching something always. Do you have several bators going year round??

Deb...Shingle Springs is the home of one of my favorite college BBall players...If there is 1 thing, outside my family of course, that brings me as much pleasure as chickens it is College Basketball :)

Kim...are they going to talk Delawares on the CSU thread?

I may have fallen in lust with Hollands...anyone know anything...any one? Seems Ideal is the only one that has them and ...sigh...can't find hatching eggs.

I am curious, when you search "mixed breed" does a pic of my Ray pop up? Right now under the "Recent Reviews" on the right side of the page, I see him. I posted his pic but it surprises me to see it there. Am I the only one? Just curious, plus I want to let him know if he is famous ;)

Tonight I lured my boy and girls into the run before dusk by offering them a mix of premium cat food, layer mash, scratch grains and organic beef broth. Day light savings hasn't fit in with their schedule so well but this was successful.

zooeesmama. I know you must be stressed yourself with your husband's condition. Hope all is resolved soon.

I have three incubators. I did have them off from October to November. I will be hatching for Kim only soon. Unless the Guy from Winters wants me to hatch more.

The eggs are from Amy and she has a couple types together so they are mixes.

I should have a bunch by tomorrow.

Quote: I cannot stand a constant barking dog! Our neighbors had one that barked all night and even though it was 10 acres away it sounded like that dog was sitting under my window!!! I finally went to thier house at 2am and there's the dog sitting on the front porch! I banged on thier door and yelled in the window to shut their darn dog up!! Wgen they would t come to the door, I left a note that their dog barked all night! Signed their sleepless neighbor!
BigDaddy'sMom I'm wondering if the dog continued to bark after you left that note!

Deerling I'm glad your kitty was just in the brooder for chick's food!

The Hovabator hubby got for me today as the back up for our wonky cabinet incubator was steady for four hours so I just put the 28 eggs in there. At this point I'll be happy if only one egg hatches but I have my fingers crossed for more.

21 days is gonna be a long wait.

Ok, way off topic here. As some of you know, my husband passed away last July. On March 2nd of this year, my co-worker's husband died of liver failure. We've had some really bad luck lately (at my work). This weekend is my co-worker's husband's service and wake/celebration meal. The wake will be held at the same exact place as my husband's was. I'm pretty sure it is way to soon for me to go to a funereal and wake, especially in the same exact place. The blown up picture of him, the slide show, all the crying people, and I know exactly what she is feeling right now. It sucks! I feel like a big jerk because I don't want to go. What should I do?

Explain to them what you just explained to us. It's too new still, in the same place even and you're not sure you can handle it. Maybe offer instead to take them to dinner so you can talk about the good times with your husbands and offer some support in a lower key setting that you can handle.
