At what age do I stop feeding chick food and start feeding adult layer food? They're just about 3 months old now.

Around 20 weeks, or when you run out close to there. You don't want to start them on layer feed too early. I now feed Flockraiser, so I don't have to switch - it's good for chicks to adults.

I sold a couple of my Silver Laced Wyandotte pullets last night. They weren't my favorites, and I need to get to a reasonable number of chickens at some point. I did put 6 BC Marans in the 'bator a couple days ago.

So glad this one didn't turn into a boy. It was questionable for a little bit.

This poor cat is so patient with the chickens. He's having identity issues and thinks he is one of them...

Poor guy gets pecked all the time.

One of my EE pullets.

Good job on selling the chickens!

I took 6 to the Auction in Roseville this morning and two will head to winters soon. Now I need to stop hatching and get my numbers down....

Picturepalozza! Happy way to start the morning!

I'm checking fertility on my new quail hens. Putting eggs in the bator today!

Talked mario into making bangles this morning so I'm happy!!

Are Bangles something that goes into your hair? It keeps your bangs from getting into your eyes?

I love your auto correct!

Melvin is a keeper!

There were 4 people who brought animals (myself included). Two are "regulars" and had the setup down pat. As I recall they had chicks, chickens, rabbits, ducks, geese, gunnies, ginnie pigs, quail, and a pig. Myself and my chicks and one lady with Lops were newcomers. The Lop lady had one person interested in a girl. I am not sure how well the others did - I did see a few younger ones go out with some people. Being on the back side of a feedstore lot didn't give us any exposure to the street traffic. I think the other location might be better, Sharon did mention it has lots of shade. I didn't go over and look at theirs until mine were gone and that was wrap-up time so they were loading when I went over.

I am just grateful I got rid of all the ones I didn't want, don't have a place to put and the ones I messed up by hatching the eggs (either broody started or picked the wrong ones to hatch). Now I have to go thru my older ones and decide what the plan is here - I somehow seem to have kept a few more than I thought.. but Silkies are SOOO darn CUTE!
