Ah, thanks much! So glad to hear that there may be "grand-chicks" in my future!
NEWSFLASH....... I have turned off one of my two incubators. I have to say, it felt a little bit like freedom. Now, just to rehome the remaining eggs from the second incubator under some broodies on sunday and then I will turn off the second and go on a much needed vacation!!! Can't wait!!![]()
this is a grow up coop so I used extra no climb fence as a door with chain and clips as hinges and openings. used some dowels and drilled a few holes on each side to put the dowels in. you could make a nest box just dont put it under the roost. I will try and get better pics of it this weekend. its in a very predator proof run thoughIs that a Dogloo in the back Jason?? We are going to retrofit one for Curly's coop. Can you tell me how you have it set up? Did you put in roosts and nest boxes? On a chicken note I think Silver Ameraucanas are now one my silver list. those are pretty chicks!
Yes, that is the first lawn grass back there in two years! I need to give the chickens controlled access to that part of the yard now.Lolol. Your lawn! It does look nice and green mind you its just struck me as funny that you were admiring it so.....
I see a lot of res in those black and white chickens. Is this a breed that you are able to tell the difference early? Thay are very pretty though.
Wow that is an amazing pattern on their faces!
What? What is this? What am missing.
what would be the reasons for a brinsea mini to be dragging the eggs but not actually rolling them over? what can I do about this? cant seem to find anything to troubleshoot this...

We have twin daughters that just graduated college. First born has been actively pursuing her dream of one day owning and running a barn/stable....what else do you do with a Theology degree right??
Anyway she has an unpaid (but room and board) internship for 2-3 months which will turn into a paid "head groom" position if she works out at this place http://kristinschmolze.net/ in New Jersey!!! She was hired day before yesterday and leaves early tuesday a.m. Exciting stuff going on around here.![]()
Our son is heading to CSM in a couple of weeks and that leaves us with just one kid at home and with any luck she will find a real job SOOOON!
In the meantime school starts for me on 8/12 so she can be the day time chicken keeper/ house keeper/ errand runner and cook while I am at work. The goal is to make it such a pain to stay home she can't wait to go be a grown up![]()
