Looking at Ivomec online I see 4 different formulations on 1 website alone (VelleyVet.com).. There is Pour-on, drench and 2 different injectables. One of the injectables has 10% w/v clorsulon, the other is just 1% ivermectin. Can you be specific on which one to use?
Oops! Never mind! Just saw the link to amazon. Looks like the Pour-on is the one to use....

Nice cake! You do beautiful work!
Thank you Audio51. Now if I can work my camera like you and Nikon, that would be great

@ronott1 - So I got Valbazen in. Wondering what the withdrawal period is. But also, I like some of the effects of Eprinex. Is there anyway to use 1, then 10 days later use the other? my birds do get tapes so I wanted valbazen, but Eprinex covers mites. I don't THINK we've got those, but it makes me feel better about it.

Since you are already treating with Valbazen, you might want to consider using Frontline(Fiprinol?spelling) There are generics for it. It does not take much per chicken.

I might have the dosage for that somewhere if you want me to find it. Frontline gets into the meat but not the eggs so much.

I spent today starting to construct a 4th smaller run for the black penedesenca
this one about 12 x 22 with a nook for the door

I made cracked pie from the Milk cookbook this morning. The batter was insane can't wait to eat them!!

What is crack pie, and what is the Milk cookbook?

Sounds delicious! My sister is making a cranberry apple pie. And we promised to bring something green/vegetable, since it always seems Thanksgiving dinner is very monochromatic.

ok so I think i have to get a youtube acct to post video, unless there's another way. Will try to get those on soon. In the video the babies are fighting over the mealies ( playing tug of war over one). Also, Brinsea has 20% off some incubators till DEC 1 !! Also, attached is a turkey themed cake I made. I hope the turkey constitutes as poultry material for this thread:) Happy Thanksgiving!!

***Edited, I ordered my incubator but won't have room for chicks for a couple of months. If anyone needs me to hatch please hit me up! Especially for the NYD hatch along :)

So fancy! Nothing I make ever looks so pretty, but usually it tastes ok.

Nice looking cake!

Amy it's hard to tell from that info. If your worried worm.

Anyone have suspiciously long toenails meaning they are not getting around much?

Everyone's very active! Especially when my daughters realize I've let them out and try to catch them

Sorry to have missed this!

It is a good time to worm them. Worm them now and then have the manure tested in the Spring.

Ivermectin will get rid of all the beasties(ok, not tape worms but those are very rare with chickens). Remember to repeat at 10 days and treat the coops.

How do I treat the coop? They've been freeranging a couple of hours a day, too--do I have to figure out how to treat the yard, too?

It's a good time to worm them. Loss of weight is a sign of worms. If you see worms in their poop, they are overloaded with them.

I usually worm once per year as a preventative. If I have doubt any other time of year, I would send a sample in first.

Yes! It kills Worms, mites and lice.

Using it too often will build resistance but once a year should be fine.

@HappyChooks posted the dosage: 1\2 tsp. for large fowl and 1/4tsp. for Bantam on the skin. Put some near the vent and some under the wings.

I'm guessing that, for worms, I need to get the ivermectin in the chickens?

Thanks, everyone!

The coop treatment is all you need to do. Mites live in the corners and come out at night. Don't worry about the yard.

Both the pour on and the injectable kill both worms and lice and mites. Pour on goes on the skin. Injectable goes into the water or is squirted into their mouth. Do not put the pour on in water or squirt it into their mouth. It is not for internal use. It is not digestible.
