Hello all. It's been a long time since I've been on here. I've tried to come and check from time to time but the thread moves so fast I could never catch up.

Beautiful pictures of all the birds and eggs! O how it makes me want to get so many more breeds.

I am looking for Serama and Bantam Cochin Frizzle chicks near Placerville. I got a Serama last year from Debs_Flock and we are in love with the little girl we have (her name is Sunshine). We'd like to have a few more of them running around to enjoy.

Am I suppose to treat my flock for worms? I don't see any signs of worms. But I don't know that I would know what to look for if they did have them.

I hope to find time to read all (ok even just some) of the helpful and awesome information you guys are posting about!

Don't worry about reading everything since you where gone. There is way too much.

At the change of seasons it is a good idea to have a float test to check for worms. Samples can be sent to UCD if you do not have a local vet that will run the test. You could test yourself if you had a powerful microscope.

UCD charges $10.50 for the test.

A picture for those of you that have kids and/ or have watched the Disney Tinkerbell movies. I saw a single and very odd feather on one of my hens today.

It was on a hen that had just finished up molting. I think the "fairies" forgot to paint all the lacing on this feather, LOL.
