Hi Ron, couldn't tag you with my phone but I have a question. You said a while back that you don't need saddles for your hens? What's your secret? Do you take the roosters out certain days? Some of the saddles aren't helping as much as I thought they would . I saw stuff from the hardware stores for tool. It's like a plastic you can dip your tool handles in to coat. I believe it's room temp, not hot. I thought about just dipping their nails in it, not the toes. Not sure how good that would be for them. It's the toenails that are causing problems.I've trimmed the toes, there wasn't much to trim before I hit blood. I keep wondering your secret

Maybe he just has nice gentlemanly roosters?!

Amazon has the EcoGlow for $74.57 with free and fast shipping for Prime members. I'm wondering if that's the better deal and the 10% off through Brinsea will only pay part of the shipping.

there is a less expensive contact heater. The small one is like the big one from Brinsea ans has the adjustable legs.

I have 100 and 150 on the ceramics. The 70s don't seem strong enough. DO NOT get the black ones from China for a host of reasons including chemicals fire hazard breakage and bad glue.

I'm looking at some on Amazon. I love shopping on Amazon! I'm looking at this 100 watt one and was wondering if it was enough for the brooder.

Your trying to think of ways to keep them warm for the show right? The hand Warmers may help too in addition to anything else. The chicks I got from you were VERY happy with them. Let me know what breeds of eggs you're getting, I'm super excited to hear!!

I'm going to leave the Wyandotte eggs in for a few more days until I'm sure though

It probably is too early to toss them. You got a lot of eggs, so it is weird that none would be growing.

The trick is to not leave them in the pen all the time. Mine make visits because I live in town.

Finally caught up on the 300+ posts I was behind.

I so wish I could get to the Stockton show but the drive is just to far for me in winter, if that's what we are calling this season. If anyone would like a project I would be interested in Partridge Rock bantam and Dark Brahma bantam hatching eggs.

A footnote about Feather Legged, that is a Bantam class. If looking for LF Langshan's they will be in the Asiatic class with the Cochin's and Brahmas.

I use those. It will depend on how cold your house is and what size the brooder. But they work for me.

Ya I might bring one of those as well. Hope I can find em! I have someone Bringing partridge showgirl eggs but the rest I'm just gonna hit the floor and see what I can see. I'm hoping for some white silkies and a jubilee cock. We will see. Mario gave me the skunk eye when I said chickens.
