So I loaded my brinsea mini and ,as usual filled one well. The humidity went to 73! So I used a napkin to empty the well and now it's at 66! I usually have to fill both wells to get that high. Confusing!

Are the eggs causing this high humidity ? And what do you guys think of proceeding with 66%? The wells are both empty!

Give it a day or so and see what happens.

The humidity will likely go down.

It is wet today!

Also, one of my turkeys just changed sexes! Celery is now male celery! Looks like I'm going to have a turkey for sale. But wth with strutting for the first time at around 8-10 months???

Last spring I ordered an assortment pack of ducks from Holderread. As it turned out, I got two Khaki Campbell drakes and no matching hens. Now the boys are fighting with and trying to breed my Dutch Hookbills, so they have to go. Anybody want to buy a couple of Campbell drakes? They are located in San Martin very close to the Gilroy outlet mall. $10 each buy I am open to trades.

I also have some Olive Egger cockerels for $5 each.

It has been a long time since I was on backyard chickens, I took a bit of a break from the whole poultry thing. But I am back now and have a full incubator. This year I am raising Welsummers, Blue Ameracaunas, bantam cochins, bantam blue lace red Wyandottes and bantam silkies and sizzles. I will likely have started birds available in the late summer/early fall.

Where did you get your starter silkie/sizzle stock? Are you going for silkies with both silkie and sizzled feathers or just straight sizzles?

Nice to see other people working with those breeds!

I just recently got my Sizzle roo from Sheri Minkner(?) at the Hollister show. He is black and I have him in with some blue silkie hens from silkie eggs purchased from the Stockton show a couple of years ago ( can't remember who I got the eggs from but they were from down by LA). I wasn't thinking about Sizzles when I went to the show, I just needed a new silkie roo since a Golden Eagle ate mine. I didn't care for any of the silkie roos I saw, but loved the little sizzle. The first eggs went into the incubator yesterday.
