Assuming the chicks look different, you could split them evenly. I suspect you might have trouble with the OE chicks--They may look too much like the Ameraucana chicks at hatch depending on what they are crossed with.OK...question for you all. I just ordered 12 BC Marans eggs and 6 OE eggs. They should be here tomorrow. My original plan was to put them all under my broody Blue Wyandotte. Then came the Mottled Ameraucanas on "The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread". So now I will be getting 10+ of those and they are supposed to ship out today so will likely be here on Thursday. That will definitley be waaaay to many for my broody to handle. I just went and set up my incubator to get it stabilized becasue I know I am going to need to use it. Any suggestions as to how I should divide these up? I was initially thinking I would do 1/2 of all under the broody and 1/2 in the bator, but I know the Marans eggs usually do better with a dry hatch. I but don't know if the humidity needs of the others is significantly different enough to warrant different incubation methods....or if there even is a difference. I have only hatched Marans eggs and duck eggs in this incubator. Any help would be greatly appreciated.....![]()
To be safe, I would make sure the OE eggs were all in one place and then band them when they hatched.
