Hello Michael. Ok...who are you?? Your advise is awesome. And, although I see myself as a reasonably intelligent person, I have to re-read your posts several times.

Even though this may not come across as a compliment...it REALLY is one.

Excuse me for not clarifying that it is one drop orally for a weak 2-3 day old chick. Unfortunately I was distracted while responding.

for the others.

My two Serama chicks that hatched today seem to have a problem with their feet....??
One has visibly crooked toes. The other is having trouble walking. It seems like it's feet are turned in sorta.

No other pips at this point on the other 4 eggs.
Temperature problems can cause foot issues. Here's a link:

My crossbeak baby is laying eggs! She's growing up!

Here is Violet about a month ago:

She is now almost 41 weeks old, black frizzle cochin bantam.

I think this is her second egg (the first one I found broken under the roost):

35 grams, and very oval.

I'm happy she is doing well enough to lay eggs... I was worried because of her crossbeak that she was using all her nutrition to keep weight on.
Here's an album of her crossbeak progression: https://www.backyardchickens.com/g/a/6511146/violets-crossbeak-progression/
Congrats!

Now fro some happy news!

I am getting ready to set my first batch of UofA Blues eggs. I also have Crele Pene X UofA Blues Olive Egger eggs!

The Egg farmer is impressed with how well the Blues lay and how big the eggs are already. They are still pullets and have only been laying for a couple of months. The eggs are from 55 to 67G in size so Large eggs!
Nice! Good luck with your hatch!

AWESOME! I love the Sierras so much, that I named my first born after them. So sorry for you who actually have the blessing of living there...NOT.

Thank you rediculous map people for having pity on us lowly "flat-landers".

I too enjoyed the maps yesterday but was in spaces I could not quote. I will swear silly valley is the bay area now till my dying day.. unless it changes.
Thank you for sharing your precious babies. You're letting those of us who have been forbidden from hatching more live vicariously through you.

Yes! I love your golden cuckoos so elegant.
Phew! And two pips:-) hope I transferred alright... We will see I. The morning.

Watch the piped eggs if they dont become air holes I worry if I have opened the bator. If they get dry you may have to help.

Day 22 and all of the other five eggs have hatched since last night. There is one egg left and has not pipped yet. I candled and the chick is very active and has internally pipped. Should I leave it alone?

Yes, if the chick is still moving, leave it alone.

Ok status update: no more deaths overnight they are still pooping blood but there is regular poop mixed in. The two sickest ones are still standing huddled. They are hungry.

If the want to eat, scrambled eggs should be good for them. Make sure they drink fresh corid water first.

It is good that the made it overnight and that the poo is getting better.
