Are those reptile pads for the bottoms of tanks? They don't take turning on and off well. Theya re cheap but fragile.
From what it said on the website, these are bigger, tougher pads that can be used for larger animals like dogs. They are pretty pricey and they recommend that you buy a thermostat to go with the pad. That puts the price for the one I was looking at up to around $200.

lol, ack! I say go with the reptile pads then!

I often break out laughing during the fair, most of the boys rehearsing are the 5/6 month old boys. They brighten my days, but glad they aren't all coming home with me!
This is the first time that I've had one crow that was just days old. He hatched either last Sat night or Sun morning. I've always laughed at the YouTube videos of tiny chicks crowing. It was fun to hear it in person. Now if he will just do it again so I can catch him on camera!

This has to be the first time that I actually wanted one of my birds to crow!

I found them when I was thinking of making my own heat plate. I think they can be used for reptiles, but I found them when I googled pig heating pad. Many sizes to choose from, but these are not inexpensive to me, lol.

They look like Hatchery Quality chickens.

I went there too and thought the same thing. I sent a test email asking if they sold hatching eggs. There are a couple of Bay Area groups that have businesses like this.

the stuff I have seen is something like this
http://www.amazon.com/Flex-Watt-Inc...d=1395360759&sr=8-10&keywords=heating+reptile

mario says you can link it to an on off toggle, and if you leave it stuck to a surface, it lasts for a while, But if you take it on and off, it dies quickly. I had one that was on one of my tank brooders that worked well ( ceramic low for the first week, then jsut it) untill I moved it and it died horribly.

for that price, why not just buy an EcoGlow or the other brand?
