An incubator with a fan in it works the same way. I had keet that took a bath in it 's water, and when I found it it was laying on it's side almost dead. I put it in the incubator and it waned him up and dried him off!
I use the incubator too. They usually recover after stuff like that. The last time, a little day old chick got stuck between the eco glos and the side of the brooder.

Silly little chick!

Congrats!

I am beginning to think that chicken have more to say than peafowl people do! And, guinea people have even less!
Ha! Yes, we chicken people are chatty!

what do you mean "it finally sunk in what it's medicated with" ?
I dont recall, but isn't it amprolium in the feed?
Or is it something more harsh?

just curious
I've only seen medicated feed with amprolium. It's a thiamine blocker, not an antibiotic.

except one needs to own a hair dryer! which i do not.

I have extremely curly hair, a hair dryer with a diffuser is a MUST!

Quote: Repeated fart eggs can be a sign of internal laying. I currently have two 5 year old hens giving me a bunch of fart eggs. Basically, with internal laying (or egg yolk peritonitis), the yolk drops into the abdominal cavity - which causes an infection. There is no cure, and eventually, they will die from it.

So I've been out of town for work and still am but just got these pictures

Go chickies!

I have a Chocolate Orp piping under my BLRWyandotte!
It's 2 days early. Surprise!
Interesting to watch the difference between incubator & broody with the same batch of eggs set at the same time.
Awesome!
