I guess @Ronott1 is right again......the humidity is not something to obsess about during incubation. More important at lockdown/hatch... He is so smart...

Does anyone with Legbars know if they pass on the "auto sexing" if they are crossed with something else? On of the chicks is a Cream legbar (mom), with either Ameraucana, LC Orp, or FBCM (Dad). I'm guessing not the Am or the FBCM, because the chick doesn't have feathered legs, or puffy cheeks. I'm wondering if I can tell what sex it is yet.

I have Legbars (I know, I know, I have too many breeds), anyway, you'd lose the auto-sexing in the cross.

So today I had my favorite hen, Carolina, out in the garden with me while I was gardening, and was curious as to what would happen if I introduced her to one of the chicks. I took out one of the oldest of the 4 and brought it out and set it in front of Carolina. It's about 3? weeks old. I had my hand between them so that if she did try to peck, I could push her away and she wouldn't be able to injure the baby. However, she didn't try to hurt him even once. She was just really curious, she stuck her face a couple inches from the chick and just stared at him for quite a bit, while he tried to eat a dead leaf on the ground, then eventually she went back to her scratching around in the garden. My dog wasn't happy about Carolina getting so close to HER chicks(my Nelly is very protective of "her" chicks) and was baring her teeth at Carolina! Lol!

Would love to see pictures of that!
