I'll have to put them out together again and get pictures of it :)

& Shh, no it's not. She's a girl and I refuse to listen to anyone who says otherwise!!

Then don't listen to this next part. It's also looking fairly pinkish for such a young chick. I find girls have NO color until they are much older.

Oh My Gosh. So cute!!!

Does anyone with Legbars know if they pass on the "auto sexing" if they are crossed with something else? On of the chicks is a Cream legbar (mom), with either Ameraucana, LC Orp, or FBCM (Dad). I'm guessing not the Am or the FBCM, because the chick doesn't have feathered legs, or puffy cheeks. I'm wondering if I can tell what sex it is yet.
I have Pita Pinta/Cream Legbar crosses and they do not pass on the auto sexing. I wish that they did!

I am wondering if that may be a color cast with your computer screen, on mine & in person it doesn't have a pink tint to it, thankfully.

Me too!

Got my new Mottled Ameraucana eggs today! She sent 20 this time and all arrived intact! I have them settling on the counter right now. I will candle them later to check the air cells. I will probably have to put them under a broody until the Genesis gets here though. The Fedex tracking showed electronic info received yesterday but there have not been any updates since then so it may not have actually gone out like they told me it did...

I don't really even mean pink. Just the slight melon color to the comb. See the color just above the nostril? The light beige? In my experience the whole comb is that color with a pullet.

But hopefully I'm wrong.

I still don't see any color tint, I'll have to look closely in person next time I take her out. But when we were picking out chicks, the lady who was selling them showed us the combs on pullets vs cocks(these chicks were not overly young, as the one already had full wings when we got her and they are MUCH larger than the few day old chicks I got) and there was a very obvious difference in the size of the combs. We took two with small combs, so hopefully at least one will turn out to be a girl! My mom just wants a chocolate layer so bad.

Here's pictures that show the size difference in the combs, the one on the left side of the picture is quickly getting a larger comb than the one on the right side. The one on the right is the one we're hoping is a girl! Although I think that at this age it's probably too soon to tell for sure, so I'm just torturing myself by trying to figure it out. They grow so fast, I'm sure we'll know in no time if we have a girl or not!
