California - Northern

I'm thinking from Papa Brooder. I want something nicer than what you get with hatchery roulette. Unless I find someone local with nice BBS Orps for sale.
I'm in Modesto. Getting ready to sort out my Orps and sell a few I've grown out. I have a blue and a splash cockerel and nice black pullets. I'm planning to sell a couple pairs. The splash/black pair will make all blue babies. You can PM me if you are interested.

Ooooo, splash! Love those. I think I need to start with chicks though so they and the dog have the best chance of acclimating.

If you want to try something local, Pollinate Farm and Garden is in Oakland. I have a nice Welsummer that I bought from them. I'm not sure if they have chicks now, but they advertise on Craigslist when they do.

I am very likely headed out to Turlock on Sunday. I see that you aren't completely sold on CackleJoy's offer because of the age of the birds, but if you decide to coordinate something by then, I don't think it would be too far out of the way for me to go to Modesto before I head back to the Bay Area.

Thanks so much! I won't even have a coop for another 4-6 weeks though.

No feedback on these and the price?
I've seen TJ chicks advertised as "Leghorn Types" (and that's how I refer to mine) and I think that is pretty fair. I've seen Production Whites before when the exact Leghorn mix was unknown. The price seems good to me for a well-started trio, and people are never afraid to make counter-offers when I advertise something. Good luck with them!
