If I want pics of my chicks (and I do!), I'm going to have to make some kind of special photo box. They just won't stand still long enough other wise, and fear them falling off the table.

We generally just had them sitting on the floor and got down to their level. We also held them a lot so it tamed them a bit.

If I put them loose on the floor I will never catch them, LOL! Tomorrow I will take them out one at a time for a little bit.

I usually bring them into a new environment for pictures and it causes them to hold pretty still. This was taken with just my phone a couple days ago.

More likely a Bantam Colombian Rock. I have heard that Bantam Delawares do exist but they are so rare that the odds of someone ending up with one and not knowing what they had are pretty slim.
you are correct about Del bantams, but if it has a barred tail..who knows. I could tell by even a bad picture. Walt

I'm not a good photographer, so most of my pictures are cruddy ones of my hands holding them still. I get some okay ones by taking a cloth 'backdrop' and making a loose nest to get them settled down and kept contained.

Here's how my frizzle chick looked at about 10 days old. They do look similar but not exactly the same...Her feathers were much more "neat" looking than yours.
Yeah, his feathers are coming in kinda crazy.

My guess with the majority of the wingtips flaring like that, you have a frizzle.
Neat colors on that chicks. What do you anticipate that adult plumage to look like?
Is it a polish?

Anyone here raise meat birds(Cornish Cross) during the winter? Would it be too cold here in Nor Cal to raise them during the winter? I definitely do NOT want to keep them in a brooder in the garage for longer than people normally do.

You could run some now fine. With some of them they are ready in 6 weeks.

The drought should help too and the cold should help with the smell.
