Then do you have any suggestions for where @tj74roberts can get a quality American SOP bird for her kid locally? Everyone I know is breeding the imported type so I'm of no use at all.

Im in san Francisco bay area but closer to santa cruz(right off of highway 17)! Im looking for the (in my case) illusive buff laced polish a few other bantam breeds and a black copper maran. And Im interested in wyandottes but if tls farms are going to be selling barnevelder eggs soon I will choose those over the wyandottes!!

I have Marans in San Jose( FBCM) I also have olive eggers and jubilees ( the afore mentioned english orphs) and Bresse. The rest are bantams . Juststruttin has crele ( they call them something else now, becuse the genetic make up is not the same as crele, but it looks the same) polish in Novato. I do a lot of egg exchanges and end up with surprise chicks during the year, but nothign else on that list right now.

My serama chick just died in my hands.... i found her outside she was barely breathing and looked like she had a prolapsed vent then she just seized and got stifff and died :'( what happen?!
