Gorgeous peacock =) best of luck with your house hunting I wouldn't want to give up my birds to live in town no way JoseThank you so much for the welcome and for the good advice. The whole zoning thing is tricky, but it does sound safest to stick with Ag land. I'm not completely attached to Sonoma and Mendocino counties, so any thoughts about other areas are also welcome. In these counties, I've seen properties that are Rural Residential and Light Agricultural, and I can't figure quite out what is and isn't allowed in these zones... And thank you also from my boy!![]()
My area is more of light ag. I only have just over an acre so limited to small to medium animals, goats, sheep, poultry, etc fine but no horses or cows. Those nearby with about 1/2 acre can have small animals.
Thank you for that! I certainly don't want to live in town or give up my boy!Gorgeous peacock =) best of luck with your house hunting I wouldn't want to give up my birds to live in town no way Jose
This is good to know, thank you. I have seen that in some places what/how many animals and birds you can have depends upon the acreage. I wonder what the actual zoning is there? And does "poultry" include "loud birds"?

Sometimes it's deceptive - places that really seem to be out in the country don't allow animals and birds because of the zoning.
Thank you all for your advice!

Quote: I think roosters and Pea Fowl would be classified as "Loud Birds"
Welcome! We are not as worried about where the dividing line is as we are with welcoming new folks from wherever they are!I believe the line would be just under San Francisco.![]()

Hey!
Just dropping by to say hi admid the chaos. We decided to pull out the bathroom vanities and tile under them while we were doing stuff and touch up paint and redo (painting or replacing depending on the type closet sliding doors are all non conforming.) the doors and redo the plugs and replace the toilets..... And....and... I keep finding ands!
We might end up having to downsize a breed since we are loosing a coop once we have to start getting ready to turn the workshop area to a apartment for my dad. If anyone is looking to get into serious breeding on jubilees or breese let me know. I have not decided but if we had a serious home I'd likely lean in that direction.
I'm hoping to be back to normal chaos by next month and not quite this level of madness.
tile, sink, faucets, new paneling, cabinets lighting medicine cabinet, a soakertub shower combo etc =)
