No problem! I was covering mine up with a tarp I bought that's 12' x 12' & I still need to get another. I have small sheets out there wrapping the maples right now & they look like big guys that just got out of the shower & are trying to cover themselves with this little towel.

I wish it turned out to be a she! My baby ended up being a he & an aggressive he at that. River was fine until he got older & became extremely aggressive to everyone in the house, stalking & biting. I tried to keep him happy but them he started biting me. He was smart & fast, always went for the eyes. I had a bruised eye when he got me good, it was a good thing I was wearing glasses. I love him so much but I had to rehome him to a place with many ducks & geese. He went to an Animal Rental ranch in SoCal about a month ago. I email them about him & I am planning a vacay to go visit my big boy. Breaks my heart that I couldn't keep him with me

Oh my gosh!! He looked like a she to me for sure! well I do have a couple of females this batch. They are 2 months old. Not sure how tamable they would be at this age. If you're interested I'd give you one. They come up for food, but are a little skid dish. Oh I'm so sorry about that. Theres no way of knowing for sure (for me at least), but I would have bet money it was a girl. Let me know. Or even next season if I have one not too young, but able to determine sex. Usually 3-4 weeks I know for sure.
Crazy how aggressive he was. But boys can be like that when hand raised. The sire is a perfect gentleman, but a chicken raised him

I know you'd all understand & appreciate.
I have an early bird!

The little one is a day early
There 10 more eggs to go & 2 are already pipped.
Mama is a smooth-feathered showgirl.
She's setting eggs that are from a friend.
They are OEGB, daddy is a crele/fawn color cross & mama is a red pyle/splash color-cross.
I can't wait to see these peepers feather out. ♡
Aw, so cute!

Just thought I'd ask if there's any interest in my cockerels; they are almost 7 weeks old and they are English Orpingtons from Papa's Poultry. 1 Lavender & 1 Chocolate; they are absolutely gorgeous! If you breed the Chocolate rooster with black hens the chicks will be sex linked! Broody raised so they are used to the outdoors & flock dynamics. Wish I could keep them all but we are going to keep just the Lemon Cuckoo cockerel until next Spring.

BTW, at what age do Orpingtons usually mature enough to father chicks? It would be fun to hatch out some chicks from our own hens but the cockerel will have to go before next Summer.

I'm down to just 4 layer hens. Something came last night and yanked open the yard door and killed 4. Feathers were everywhere in our pastures. I'm thinking coyotes or dogs because there were absolutely no remnants other than feathers, and they left one completely intact body buried in the dirt.

I secured the coop as best as I could tonight, although I don't think they'll come back for another day or so. They had quite a good meal.

I am looking to get a game cam to figure out what I am dealing with so I can hopefully dispose of the problem. Can anyone recommend one that won't break my bank?
