I was asked to share this with your state threads:
All of us who have had necropsies performed by CAHFS (UC Davis) got this notice in our email. They mention quarantine after shows, etc. - but I am wondering how many diseases are "out there" for which a 30 day quarantine just isn't enough (and the diseases there is no possible way to quarantine for, like Marek's). There's so much buying and selling of adult birds on our NorCal fb pages that I cringe...

There is only so much we can do for bio security. Some things still get through--some come from mosquito others from wild birds. Some can come from a trip to the feed store too.
