California - Northern

I don't know Cheryl. I did register with your website and have yet to get any emails and etc.

I thought it said I would get some kind of one time discount too.

I will have to find out where Clayton is.

Sounds like fun.
Yes Clayton is the next town over from Concord...

I'm not blasting this from my website because I only want local folks!! Just PM me your email address and I'll add you!

Hey Ron! Clayton is right next to me and I'm in Concord. We're going to try to make it to this (depending on how bad the jetlag is!) I hope I get to meet some of my BYC friends!

I used google maps to get directions to Clayton. It is 68 miles from me and will take 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there.

Close enough!

I hope your chickens are ok without you. I bet you guys miss them.

Quote: The Gold Sex links probably are heat tolerant. It's hard to find information on the sex links, but they are hybridized from heat tolerant breeds. I have two of those and they were fine last Summer and so far this one.

The pictures sound nice. Does anyone decoupage anymore? Lots of scrap booking though.

Ron

Yes we miss them! As much as I'm loving our visit here I can't wait to get home! The chickens are doing awesome! Their "babysitter" is sending me pics and says his kids are playing with them everyday so they stay sweet! It's 1 am time to go to sleep! Tomorrow we visit the Alhambra! Adios for now BYC friends!

I did look into heat tolerant breeds and found out that Orpingtons are not one of them. They apparently do not like the heat. Lucky for me, Black Australorps are heat tolerant.

I've never had any issues with my Orps and the heat. *knocks on wood*
Last summer we had days in the high 90s, they fared pretty well, some panting but no losses.

Do any of you have an automatic door opener? I need to get two of them. We can't go anywhere because the chickens go to bed later then my parents

who take care of our animals when we go somewhere. The enclosed run area in one coop is too small to leave them in for more then a day and the other coop would be too hot this time of year. Plus, I wouldn't mind not having to go out and let them out at the crack of dawn!

I got some chickies and goslings today. :D

Meet Chuck

Sarah has an eye infection I'm treating. I think Chuck might have gotten aggressive. She sure likes him though! Lol

Have her a bath to help her wash her face and clear her nares out.

All business.

Beautiful babies, Zooweemama! Was at the feed store this afternoon for a new bag of crumbles, and it was all I could do to resist the chicks! Are you familiar with "chicken math"?

Chicken math is how I started with 6 chicks like 2 weeks ago and I now have 18. I already have 14 ducks and just got 2 geese today. I think it's just bird math. bwahaha!
