I hope not. if so I wonder what I can do. they have been flying out of the grow up coop into the attached run so maybe she jammed it or broke it? could of been stepped on by the older larger pendesenca's

The above site shows the Basque breeds. The picture of the Marraduna Rooster looks a lot like Seiji. I hope to have hatching egg in the Fall from him.

Very nice looking boy Ron. I have been reading about Basque birds, sounds like they would do well in the valley heat here as well as being lovely eye candy.

I had a record day for eggs today. My 13 layers laid 10 eggs. I am going to have to check to see if my Golden Comet Yin is laying. Kathyinmo says to look at the vent to see if it is the right size and looks like the vent on the known layers.

I think she is laying--I saw two eggs that looked like golden comet eggs today( I have two of those, Yin and Yang). Very friendly chickens--well they are now. I got them as started pullets and Yang was a bit mean at first but she came around

Ron, I think it's hilarious how naked the Reds are in their "awkward juvie stage", I didn't think my cockerels were EVER going to grow in their feathers completely. We processed one cockerel at around 8 months old and he had just barely begun to grow in his tail!

I noticed the same thing. I keep thinking... is something wrong with this chicken?! And then finally they start to look normal. Brahmas are notorious for that two. I have some of the ugliest looking brahmas ever. Before I was thinking I had a mite scare but now i am convinced i just had a bunch of awkward juvies! funny.

Ok, here is a picture of me with my little EO Marraduna Basque Cockerel, Seiji:

He is beautiful. I love his feathers. Such an interesting breed.

My little chick has a limp in the gitty up. seems ok no injury but is limping pretty good.

Could it be Mareks?
