Our chickens are crazy for cherries! Since all the ones off the tree are long gone, they only get the occasional few that we are willing to part with. Will chase each other all over the yard for a cherry! Did you notice how their beaks get covered in red? Bloodthirsty chickens!!!
update:
one of my CL girls is standing and eating. still not really drinking but she went for the eggs as soon as I put them in. the other i think is maybe a bit better. no sign of eating or drinking but she is at least hunched in a sort of sitting position compared to laying on her side not moving. so stressful!! I've been running around all afternoon spraying everybody, putting ice bottles out, ice in water, draining my nipple system every hour to get some cool water in. this is exhausting. i'm hoping this doesn't have to happen every day this week!!

Hope everyone's chickens are still hanging in there. I'm
my three broodies hang in there. I'll feel better when they're done hatching and can get out of their hot spots. Should get some chicks by Wednesday. I took 6 of the later developing eggs out from under the Polish and put them under the new broody. I candled 14 of her eggs and all of them were developing! That was 1/2 of what's under her. She is such a sweety, never pecked at me once and I was digging under her. The EE girls fluff up, growl and nip at me.
Here's a pic of some 3 month olds from the last hatch. The first two are EE cockerels, I'm not sure about the Polish, at first I thought the white one was a pullet and the black was a cockerel but I'm thinking the opposite. Any guesses?
