oh wow that sucks!

On our sick chick front, I completely freaked out ( including shrieking and crying) over the bubbly eye so we went down to Gilroy and got some tylin. One injection last night, one this morning.

EVERYONE is better. Purples isn't eating or drinking, but she got up to investigate when I opened the door, and snottys eye is completely clear. She however, still looks like a 3 year old that ate a yogurt pop and fell asleep with it on her face, so I'm washing her so she can breath, which she hates. Every complaint gives them more energy, so I'm happy.

I'm hoping everyone will be over the hump tomorrow. DH is gone so If i have to give shots, I have to get a friend to do it with me, not sure how would go over! lol. Ive been changing and dousing myself with alchohol every time I leave the sick room so I dint get anyone else sick. My skin is going to be peeing off by the end of the week at this rate!

We met one of the guy who organizes the hollister show at tractor supply while getting medicine. he said that they are having a rash of it down here, they have been going through tylin like candy ( we had to check 5 places to even find it) . he thought a single shot should clear them up, but there was some conflicting info out there so I wanted to be sure. Its always nice talking chickens with people who have been into it for ever.

I turned the big 4-0 this summer. Got carded by someone younger than me to buy a bottle of wine to take to DH's boss' house for dinner. It was hilarious because my 12 year old son (who is 5'7") was with me. Yeah, like I had him when I was 9.

Hi guys! How is everyone? My Basque chicks came down with cocci on Friday. Only one showed symptoms (very poofy.) I put Corid in their water and everyone is fine now! Thanks to everyone's advice, I had it on hand!

I went to the ranch today to see my big chickens and guess what I found?? Our first egg!! I don't know if it was laid by our Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks or our Basques but dang it's adorable!

I went to the ranch today to see my big chickens and guess what I found?? Our first egg!! I don't know if it was laid by our Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks or our Basques but dang it's adorable!

It looks like a Basque egg and since the other Easter Hatch EO Basque have started laying over the last couple of weeks, I will go with that..

Good job with the Corid. It is good to hear they are ok now.
