California - Northern

Ok ty! I will wait until he dries out. He looked like a drowned rat. Boy those Orps are just big balls of fluffy feathers- lol. He is in the house right now and he gobbled up some food. Poor guy. I think I will make him an egg later.

What do you guys think about this to help out my female to male ratio? (I've lost several pullets- the mold stuff- over the past month so my ratio is now seriously off) I am culling my last female today affected by it. :( ALL Marans every single one. (well except Hope and she was my Orp that struggled from the Cocci before) All t he rest Marans (male and female).

I found this ad on CL. Price sound about right? I really want to make sure the ratio is better- I don't want my hens harassed more than they need be.

If anyone here as some extra ladies (they don't have to be super young either) they need to sell off that's not too far off- I would rather do that. I feel safer knowing you. (chicken health I mean) You can PM me. I don't need SQ though.

Otherwise...this CL look promising to you? It's very local to me. Thanks!

But if no one has anything
I am sure the amer ( i) cana means easter egger which is ok especially for eggs. wynadotte are good layers. 15.00-20.00 is the going rate for laying hens. so as long as they are healthy sounds like a fair deal.
check for mites or lice. Keep them seperated a week or two but in visual distance

BigDaddy'sMom - congrats on all those eggs! Most of my girls are molting, so I'm only getting about 5-6 a day.

Ron - let me know what that one turns out to be. Do you have a side profile of it?

Look what I found today! One of my EE pullets from the May hatch is laying green eggs AND after months of broodies everywhere so the layers were laying everywhere except in the laying boxes, and then molting, I was pleased to find this in the boxes today!

And my Splash Polish who was bloated for some reason is not bloated anymore! I can't find an egg, the girls in that pen are still on strike, so I don't know what it was but she's back to normal.
Nice normal chicken day at High 'N Dry Farm....and the Packers won!!! Yippeeee! Hope everyone's enjoying this beautiful fall day!
Off to finish making lasagna for our friends who's husband is in the hospital and coming home today. Was such a help for us when I was in the hospital and recovering from my back surgeries back in March.

I just took some. These two have the same look to them. One is an obvious roo.

The red is not as bright in this side picture.

It was a Beautiful Day for Apple Hill.... Going to have to plan to go again in the next few weeks..
The people we went with decided after about 20 minutes, they wanted to leave

Bummer! Something was up, I wasn't going to make them feel bad, even though Me and my kids were disappointed. So I bought a few pies, apples, pears and some Carmel to hold us over. on the plus side...I get to spend another day with my kids. They thought it was Awesome and REALLY want to go back...
