That is why I use about!

Research shows that math problems can give you a headache.

Once they act like they are in a coma.....................growl at you (but not always, some hens are nice).................you can literally tip them onto their side to look under them for eggs...........they only get out of the nest very briefly once per day, if at all...................

That is broody.

Deb
And they are in the nest box at night instead of the roost.

My hatch is done - 9 out of 10 hatched. I thought the last one was a late quitter. I candled it and it had not pipped internally, didn't see movement. So I went to do an eggtopsy and when I pulled the membrane, it started bleeding - then I saw it breathing. I felt horrible - first time that has ever happened to me. I know it would have probably quit anyway, but still.

No splashes darnit - but 8 beautiful blue/black chicks and 1 wellie chick. (probably male) I'll take pictures in a few.

I am always worried that will happen with the late ones. Someone posted that 24 hours after the first pip, you should poke a little pin hole in the top of the egg just in case they are having trouble getting enough air after the internal pip(break the membrane).

I also peep at the egg and hold it up to my ear to see if I hear peeping.

9 out of ten is great!

I forget to clear my phones cache. I makes the app on my phone work again. Yay!
Excuse my typos. Sent from my iPhone.

GORGEOUS! are you breeding the orps, english I suppose by their girth? I would love a couple for my laying flock - beautiful eye candy!

Very funny! yes they are stupid but the most fun eye candy in the yard!!!

Here they are.

Group shot - the oddball is the wellie. The rest are project blue barnevelders.

The lone Wellie that somehow jumped into the bator. And it looks like a boy.

Love the markings on this barnevelder:

I'm thinking cockerel here - look at that attitude!
