They will gradually get bigger. My Orps lay larger (though more oblong) than a grocery store egg. As for grams, not a clue - I don't weigh my eggs.Egg question- do the pullets need to lay for a couple months before getting bigger eggs? They still seem pretty small and some have been laying a month. What is the grams on an average non-Leghorn layer egg?
Oh and one last thing- so super excited. I found homes for ALL my extra cockerels. That will leave me with 3 cockerels - and if they cannot get along off to freezer camp for the Marans I chose to keep (for now). Anddddd 2 of my younger Orp pullets started laying. Sneaky little things! They are half the size of my big girls and started laying earlier! 24 weeks for these Orps and 31 weeks for the older Orps. Quite the spread in ages! Maybe the EEs might even kick some out. Fingers crossed!
They all somewhat look like this. The more I look at better quality buff orp pics- the more I think it just might be normal and just have full crops from eating. I could be paranoid right now. Orps are def more blocky shaped than streamlined like some of the other breeds. I have been pouring over pics and I see some that look pretty similar.Doesn't this look wrong?? Her chest?

Or am I paranoid?
Excuse my typos. Sent from my iPhone.
that would make in convinentI have a friend here in Antioch that raises Jersey Giants. She is always looking for homes for her extra boys. There are some of them on the farm with my Langshan boys.

I hope so too! No pips yet! I will keep you posted.
Just got back from Shingletown. I dropped off the two TJs(Trader Joes) chickens to Amy Beth. She gave me a dozen Duck eggs and I had to explain(Promise?) my family that I would not hatch them.I only thought about that a little I swear....![]()
It was nice but I got up at 5 to bake and wound up finishing up the cooking up there too. I am quite tired.
Good night!

Thanks for the reminder about using my convection. I put my sweet taters and stuffing in at once time and i did not have to cook it twice as long. For some reason I need to with standard oven.
