@perchie.girl I'm doing ok. I'm actually in Dulzura, but darn near close enough. I believe the fired started in or around Barret Junction and the winds blew it south east into potrero and continues to blow it out toward campo. I'm really worried because I have a friend who lives in Potrero and my parents are currently out in Pine Valley. Not sure how close to pine valley the fire might be headed......

My place is about twenty miles west from Campo the lay of the land puts a lot of rugged terrain between Campo and me. Boulevard burned im that path a couple of years ago so the fuel is greatly cut down.

Pine valley will be ok it will have to cover a very lot of acreage to get to them...

There is a huge network of people who volunteer to evac livestock in San Diego county. If they can get in they will evac your friends in Protrero.

Back duriing the cedar fires the Packed my big Percheron Horse into a stock trailer with several others and took her to Wind and Sea boarding stable..... About a mile from the ocean.... she was in heaven and BOSS of the whole crew by the time I found her.... she was in a turn out area of about an acre with four or five other horses..

I am soo glad you are ok.

Fire is scary no matter what point of view you have.

Fire is especially scarry when its knocking at your back door. Like 2 years ago within 2 weeks we had someone take out the telephone (or electric pole whichever you prefer) in front of our house with his bran new 2 week old bmw was arrested for dui. Split the pole in 3. If i had had a security cam would hsve been epic vid the pole was tossed lengthwise in the street. Was split at ground level and below ground level. And then there was a fire in the back hills behind our house came all the way to our property line. I was freaking out and out of no where this guy appears (i was home alone at the time with 2 dogs and i was 23 with no car) he asks where the hose is and goes to work holding off the flames till firemen worked there way down the hikl and got into the apartment complex to get access near me. He yelled there was livestalj under my tree and as quick as he apeared he was gone. No clue who he was but my mom got his picture. As she came walking into the backyard. He came walking down our hill picked up our turtle who was heading twords the flames. Set the turtle down and was gone. Mom asked who he was and when i told her she went to find him he was already gone. That fire freaked me out

Oh yeah... during the Cedar fires back in 2003 we were evacuated twice... the fire burned up to my grandmas back fence... whe headed to moms house across the valley.... then fire was threatening her house and they had it out at grandmas .... so we went back.

It burned so hot it took the fence posts out down into the ground... A friends barn was nothing but white ash and nails....
