CALIFORNIA The Whole State thread

Such elegant chicks! Can't wait to see the rest.

I had a guy who bought hatching eggs from me call and say he had 2 Polish roos from those eggs and he wanted to know if I'd take them back. Sunny, they're beautiful WCB! You didn't get any good WCB did you? So far I didn't either. I'm so tempted to take them. One has an extra beautiful crest. I actually swore it was a girl until I saw the saddle feathers. If anyone's interested, I think he would be a great LF WCB prospect.
OK I was gonna email this to Pam then thought I'd try one more thing... It worked!

New peachicks!!!

OK I have lots more pics to post of Pam and Candy's birds but it is too hot to sit in the car any longer. I'll have to post again next time I come into town (my home connection is too weak).

OK, so you've all probably noticed I haven't updated the first post or reposted on another page. I have however been seeking help to take care of the problem. I a platinum member which gives me 15 days worth of edits. From what Nifty says, this was supposed to be the case before, so during other repairs to the site it was kixed. Darn it! LOL

So although the pain of having to click on another page, the info will still be there and available. I'll be able to edit at will and can even make editing helpp available through other members. So many people aren't aware that you can right click and open a new tab or window and don't like to be bothered with clicking back and forth in the same one, so maybe we can all teach them how it's done.

I hope everyone like the page idea. Best I can do. It should work just fine. Trust me I haven't been happy about this being a problem, but I'm good with the page idea and it's easier to be able to edit myself, than having to bother a mod and having to copy and paste every single time I even have to add a name to the list, let alone, shows or breeder info.

Anyway.........I'm working on it. Might even add pics and charts and whatever if I get creative. LOL

So Sunny, I guess step one of how to post a pic on BYC needs to be changed to "get in your car and drive to town..."

Has anyone seen or heard from Paul Pleece (Paul's Rare Poultry) lately? I have been trying to reach him for the past three weeks to schedule some repair work that he owes me on a coop that he built for me with defective siding, but haven't received any response to my calls, emails, or texts (other than his "we will respond in a timely manner" auto-response). It has been three weeks now and I am starting to get worried that something might have happened to him. It looks like he has been "pinning" things on pinterest, but not sure if someone else is using his account to do that? Anyway, if you do see or hear from him please let me know!

Was he the same guy that was at Cheryl's party? Sorry he is avoiding you. :(

I am so upset! I have been told by TWO different animal control officers that they WOULD catch the dog that killed our chicken and hurt Sebastian. The 1st officer even said without any problem that dog will be marked as "dangerous" and removed from the property. I called to follow up and a supervisor and they just told me they have no plans to remove the dog. They aren't even going to follow up that the other dog is chained to a tree stump with no shade because basically they are too busy! According to the report both dogs are not licensed or have shots. I can't believe I have mislead by AC officers for this long. How would they like to be chained to a stump in 105 degree weather with no shade! On a brighter note the "love birds" are amazing! I love watching them walk around the yard together. I really want babies!

I think it's time to do a civil suit. I wouldn't bother with sending a letter to them. I'd sue for vet bills and the loss of your hen. These people aren't going to do the "right" thing. Having dogs that kill livestock and don't have shots and are tied with no shelter to trees isn't "the right thing." Looks like animal control is sleeping on the job.

Typical of this county. When my dog Isis and I were attacked in Dec, I was on the phone with 911, screaming for them to send help to get the dog out of my house and I get a phone call from AC 20 minutes later to take a dog bite report. My son had to hand me the phone while I was trying to get this dog off my dog before it locked it's jaw, because dispatch wanted to ask me what was going on. ??????When I finally talked to AC she gave me other numbers to use, which I lost along with every other contact I had in my phone last week. But she told me they also don't carry a weapon, so they couldn't have helped if it had gotten worse. OK, so you send the cops! AC acted like it was my fault that the dispatcher didn't send the cops. Geez I'm sreeming the dog is in my house attacking us and see said she was contatcting AC and hung up. I never asked for AC, only that they send help before we got chewed up.

AC drove around for 5 minutes looking for the dog. I seen the dog since, but AC is usless. If that had been my kid, I would have been all over the news by now. Luckily I got it off of Isis and out the door with just the back of my hand and finger bite slightly before Dakotah got hold of his bat. This is just unacceptable. We have at least and I'm not kidding, 50 Chihuahuas that run the street. At night there's a mini pack and sometimes you hear the fights between them and bigger dogs. But they breed non stop. And all AC does is walk door to door and ticket anyone with an unlicensed dog that has them under control. I've never in 2 1/2 years at this house, seen them out picking up all the strays or dogs that are allowed to run the streets. And when one of these dogs gets hit by a car or killed by a bigger dog, the owners run out and get another one, even though that already have maybe 10.

Sorry, I'm still a little touchy about it. They kept sending me letters about the bite so I could go in to the health department. I figured if I came down with Rabies, I'd show up then , frothing.

Figures they can take care of business like they need to when dogs are attacking other animals. They're pretty much a waste of space here. I see their trucks parked at fast food resturants and convience stores eating. I'm not lying! And not one of them is in any shape to bend over and pick up a dead animal, let alone chase down one that has a heartbeat. Ohhhhhh I think I have serious issues where Stanislaus County is concerned. LOL

The demand letter is actually a necessary first step for small claims court - need to be able to show evidence that a demand for compensation was made.
