why don't farmers just raise their prices now to $18 per egg. then by 2015 they will have plenty of money to build chicken palaces and by then people will be used to the high price and you will hardly hear a murmer when the law goes into effect!

I eat my hens eggs every day. I treat them well. They are pets not dinner. We may change our minds as they get older and we get more chickens, which is our choice. My issue with all this is filing their beaks down, cramming them into cages where they can't even move and starving them. Same with cows, and pigs etc. Small spaces for battery chickens is not disagreeable, if they can move. Same again, with other meat animals. What I hated is the video of the meat processing plant right in my own backyard dragging cows across an asphalt lot because it couldn't stand up. Bad.

I JUST SAID I don't completely agree with these animal rights groups. I don't think there is anything wrong with having pets, as long as they are treated properly.

What is your defination of properly I kennel my dogs when I leave the house is that inhumane my cats stay inside the house is that inhumane my horse (when I had her) was stabled in a barn at night is that inhumane. Is the restriction of natural behaviors inhumane? Because if so humans have a lot of natural behaviors that are restricted.

My chickens are pets with the great benefit of eggs I know what they eat and most of the time where they have been. If they pass this bill most CA will have out of state eggs or out of country eggs they price will increase. Because they dont want "farms" in their state.​

You should explain yourself better.

This is not an attack on you. Just an observation.

When you post things like eggs being treated or tainted (my words) with hormones you are being incredibly irresponsible unless you post factual material to support that. Links to website or references to literature, professional journals etc.

And the radical animal rights groups put out videos for people like you. They take isolated incidents, often orchestrated by them to look the way they want it to look and then "leak" it out to the media so people like you see it and accept it as gospel and assume that is the way all animals are treated on all farms.

I wish all people would become a little bit more critical in their thinking concerning issues like things before making blanket statements and blind factless statements.

I must likely won't be around in 2015
to see this prop take affect if passed. But if by chance I am, I and my 2 friends (Smith & Weeson) will be here waiting for them. Yup, I will treat them as I would any other predator. Matter a fact, I would treat one of the local predators with more respect than some darn idiot telling me how to treat my animals. I will state this as fact, my animals are treated better than many people's children. They have all the food they can eat, water they can drink, see a doc when sick and get more love from my family than they can stand. (Thank the man up stairs I remember this site is family friendly
or my statements would cause the preacher to drink.)
