I don't advicate the hunting of animals. But if people choose to eat meat, I would much rather them hunt than eat factory farmed animals.

Wow. I'm sure glad I don't live in CA.

Unfortunately the Sheeple in California will probably listen to the fruits and whackos from Hollywood, believed the edited/doctored film clips, and be mislead by nostalgia for outdated and inefficient livestock production.

Do you realize the silly groups that are pushing for this proposition would love to take your right to have those chickens or any pet away?

Very true. PETA and organization stink and are a waste of time IMO.

I don't know what groups you are talking about (there are screwballs in every group animal rights activists, churchs, etc.) I don't completely agree with everything these animal rights groups say. I am sure they object if you own an animal and treat it badly. If there are groups that believe you should not have animals as pets, I don't agree with them.

I'm glad I live in Ohio. That said, the real issue here is not cages or crates. The real issue is just how much do you want the government to control what you do on your farm? But this is planet California we're talking about.

I don't buy meat, milk, eggs (the reason I bought my own chickens.

So do you eat your own chickens or are they pets. Because either way organization and PETA want to take that right away from you. And you sure sound like one of them!

If this bill is passed it will eliminate the almost 20 million laying hens currently in California and force the import of eggs from out of state.

So pretty much, if this passed, CA would be saying, "You can have battery hens, just not in our state!"... as they are buying eggs from the store.

Carri, I am with ya!!!! And this prop has a good idea, but takes it too far. Humane treatment to one is horrid conditions for another. It is the extreme that this prop calls to. there are plenty of batteries that have room in the cages and don't file down beaks....but this prop wants to put them all in our back yards.

I eat eggs from my chickens because they are treated properly. It is not the idea of eating an egg I object to, it is the treatment of most laying hens I object to.
