Call Ducks - Convince Me Not To

Hi everyone,

I'm an avid waterfowl lover (sebastopol geese) specifically.

I was debating on doing snowy calls or another variety for showing possibly.

Some local people are trying to convince me to have them, and I know they are cute BUT give me every reason why you would not get calls please.

Thanks and the more info the better or anything you can guide me to.

For reference they will be enclosed into a run, not free ranging as we live next to a state forest and I want to be responsible.

They’re just ducks, so they’ll crap every three steps. Other than that, if you like ducks they’re just ducks. A little harder to hatch sometimes but I’ve never noticed anything different in their care.

Hey I also live next to a state forest - in Maryland.
Call ducks are so cute! I almost got a pair of them from someone in my neighborhood but she fell out (Facebook group)
If you can get some I say DO IT! lol

I don’t have any call ducks, just the standard sized lunatics.
Call ducks are adorable, I’m assuming they’re not much different behaviorally than standard ducks and are just fun sized harbingers of chaos.

I will warn you, if you’ve never had ducks before and all you have are geese, as a fellow proud servant of goose nobility ducks are not like geese, ducks are not stable beings. Ducks are neurotic, unpredictable at the best of times, messy to an unholy degree, and known to spontaneously start coups for no reason at all. Ducks are hilarious.
